// Why I go for CG

It's Week 10. And my plate is spilling over.

You don't have to be an SMU student to know how much shit we're dealing with every week. And this period's kinda the worst. You see either fuming faces pressed for time, marching at top speed and cursing under their breath at inefficient project mates or happy JC kids studying in the vicinity (WHY ARE WE PAYING $4.5K A MONTH FOR YOU TO SIT ON OUR BENCHES), or decaying zombies hanging by a thread, dragging their sorry self around unlike their Left 4 Dead brothers who are at least a tad more excitable.

    They're everywhere.

And I was both these groups (though not at the same time) for quite a while. Until I decided to drop everything and come back to God at Fort Canning Park.

We sat in a circle facing each other for the first time in ages and pages. With an electric lamp in the middle, its light reflecting our exhausted faces (I don't think many of us have ever climbed a slope with food from Kopitiam in one hand and our laptops in the other). With carpet grass beneath our tired feet and trees embracing our huddled backs. All under one big sky with an even bigger God.

I guess I could always say, "Wellllll it's all good and refreshing cos I'll get to recharge and yadaayadaa but WHAT ABOUT MY ETHICS REPORT AND MPW READINGS AND MA PRESENTATION AND FT ASSIGNMENT?? I could've completed half the pile in that 3 hours."

And I guess I could always reply, "Wellllll it's all good and refreshing cos I get to sleep more and yadaayadaa but WHAT ABOUT MISSING OUT ON GOD'S PRESENCE AND HIS PEOPLE WHOM I NEED MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE?? I'll never get that experience at that point in time ever again."

Thank God I NEVER talk to myself.

Everyone needs a break once in a while. We're not machines. As a matter of fact, machines do break down and become obsolete. Or rust. Or explode. Or get out of point haha. So for some people, they choose to unwind with friends. For me, I choose to rest in God. Because I know when I get home, I won't.

And that's good enough a reason for me.

To end off a great day, I was greeted with a pint of Burnt Caramel ice cream from Island Creamery when I opened the freezer to satisfy my nightly ice-cube chewing habit. THANKS, MUM. You are damn awesome.

    Now back to Management Accounting.
